Accessibility Statement

Last updated: July 3, 2026

Our commitment 💛

At Tots N Tales we believe every parent, grandparent, and gift-giver deserves to have a great shopping experience on our website — regardless of ability or the technology they use to browse. We are committed to making totsntales.shop as accessible and easy to use as possible for everyone.

We aim to meet the standards set out in the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA as published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).

1. What we are doing

Visual accessibility

  • Maintaining clear colour contrast between text and background elements throughout our site

  • Ensuring all product images include descriptive alternative text so screen reader users know what they are looking at

  • Avoiding the use of colour alone to communicate important information

  • Supporting browser text resizing without loss of content or functionality

Navigation and structure

  • Using clear and consistent heading structures across all pages

  • Ensuring all buttons, links, and forms can be navigated using a keyboard alone

  • Providing descriptive link text so users understand where each link leads before clicking

  • Including skip-to-content links to allow users to bypass repetitive navigation

Shopping and checkout

  • Ensuring our product pages, shopping cart, and checkout process are compatible with screen readers

  • Clearly labelling all form fields including delivery address and payment forms

  • Providing helpful and specific error messages during checkout so issues can be resolved easily

  • Making sure order confirmation and tracking information is accessible to all users

Forms and contact

  • Clearly labelling all fields on our contact form

  • Providing accessible error messages that describe the problem and suggest how to fix it

Mobile and assistive technology

  • Designing our site responsively so it works well across all screen sizes and devices

  • Supporting zoom up to 200% without horizontal scrolling or loss of content

  • Testing compatibility with common screen readers including NVDA, JAWS, and VoiceOver

2. Known limitations

We are a small, independent baby and toddler store and while we are fully committed to accessibility there may be areas of our website that do not yet fully meet WCAG 2.1 AA standards. We are actively working to identify and address these.

Areas we are currently reviewing include:

  • Some product images sourced from our supplier partners may not yet have complete alternative text descriptions — we are working through these on an ongoing basis

  • Certain third-party tools we use including our payment processor, review widgets, and shipping tracking pages may have accessibility limitations that fall outside our direct control

  • Some older content on our site may not yet fully meet our accessibility standards — we are updating this regularly

3. Third-party content

As a dropshipping store some content on our website — including product images and descriptions — is provided by our supplier partners. While we review and update this content where possible some elements originate from third-party sources and may not always meet full accessibility standards.

We also use third-party services for payment processing, email marketing, and shipping tracking. We choose partners who take accessibility seriously but we cannot fully control the accessibility of their interfaces. If you experience difficulty with any third-party element please let us know and we will do our best to help.

4. Ongoing commitment

We treat accessibility as an ongoing responsibility rather than a one-time task. We are committed to:

  • Regularly reviewing our website for accessibility barriers

  • Updating supplier-provided product content to include proper accessibility features

  • Including accessibility requirements whenever we update or redesign any part of our site

  • Listening and responding to feedback from our users promptly and kindly

5. We want to hear from you 💬

If you experience any difficulty using our website — whether that is navigating our pages, completing a purchase, or accessing product information — please let us know. Your feedback genuinely helps us improve for everyone.

You can reach us by:

  • Email: meikle83@hotmail.com (preferred — we aim to respond within 2 business days)

  • Contact form: Available on our Contact Us page

When getting in touch please tell us:

  • What you were trying to do

  • Which page or feature you had difficulty with

  • The assistive technology or browser you were using

If you are unable to access a specific product or complete a purchase due to an accessibility barrier please contact us and we will do our best to help you through an alternative channel — including processing your order manually if needed. 💛

6. Formal complaints

If you are not satisfied with our response to an accessibility concern you may wish to contact the relevant authority in your region.

In the United Kingdom this includes the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC):

7. Standards we follow

This statement is guided by:

  • Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA

  • The Equality Act 2010 — United Kingdom

  • The Public Sector Bodies Accessibility Regulations 2018 (where applicable)

This statement will be reviewed and updated annually or whenever significant changes are made to our website.
